Credit Suisse Case Study

Client: Credit Suisse

Workforce: 48,000

Industry: Banking

The project: Global Workday rollout in 50 countries from legacy PeopleSoft.

The challenges:

  • Mobilise a global program (Zurich, UK & US)
  • Define the business case and approach
  • Select & contract software & implementation partners (IP)
  • Develop plan, mobilise resources and deliver change support
  • Navigate poorly aligned sponsors and HR ExCo to create buy-in
  • Operate within a highly regulated industry sector.

The result:

Mobilisation of a team of over 60. Selection of IBM and Deloitte as (IP) realising a 15% reduction in the IP price whilst maintaining their engagement in a partnering model.

Our role:

LACE were engaged prior to IP’s selection and Workday contract signing. The initial brief was to review the position of the Program and to recommend enhancements which would allow Credit Suisse to drive the engagement of Workday and their IPs. This work then expanded from designing the Program governance and developing the roles in the Program to a QA of the business case and delivery plans.

Our recommendations were well received and a number of significant changes were made resulting in the appointment of members of LACE as both interim Program Director, Change lead and Solution Architect.

During the contracting, we were tasked with advising the Program team and Credit Suisse’s procurement team on how to best structure the relationship with the IP in a Workday Program. This included support in preparation for the orals and contracting process.

Subsequently, LACE was engaged in a number of work streams, primarily solution design, project planning, business case development and change.
